When I look at the massive and uncontrolled outbreaks of Coronavirus Covid-19, I remember the occurrence of FMD in the UK in 2001, when a late diagnosis of a disease in just a short time of 24 hours spread the disease throughout the country and caused irreparable damage. When covid-19 became globally prevalent, I was reminded of the many similarities between this new disease and FMD, which is not bad to address. Failure to diagnose primary cases and failure to report infectious contagious diseases is the most important issue of disease control and epidemics.
